this weekend was pretty good. we had some guests in town for a few days, which is tiring, but good. i took my friend viktor (who is in the usa from hungary, studying religion…oh, and he just married an american honey to take back with him as a trophy of american conquest…or something) to the at&t classic at sugarloaf country club, in duluth, ga. i’ve got some friends who live there, so it was free! viktor’s lived here for three years, but he still has some funny perceptions of americans, so we had some good convo.
sunday was interesting. rd had some powerful things to share with every body, and then karl taught the message for the day. i think it was the best i’ve ever heard him do. people tell me that the band had a great vibe. we had a leaders’ lunch afterward and it was fun and insightful. …and then i found out that we only had 100 people yesterday… freaking ridiculous. disappointing. but, from what i hear, several other prominant church plants are low in attendance right now, too. still sucks, though.
last night, i did everything while gretchen slept on the couch. i cooked (heated up left-over pizza), cleaned up the house, gave my daughter a bath, put her to bed… i guess gretchen needed the sleep!! she’s got an important lunch today.
a few thoughts:
- i’m juiced about heroes’ season finale tonight (even though it’ll be a cliff-hanger, and i’ll have to wait until october to find out what happens).
- we have a new video camera and it’s awesome. i’m working on the next crossing video today.
- hillsong’s mighty to save album is sweet.
- i have my second choi quang do class this evening at 7:00. it kicks (and punches) butt…
- our guests cooked us biscuits this weekend, and it made me decide that we need to buy rolls and biscuits to bake at home more often. they are the bomb.
