well, we’ve been on vacation in sunny california for over a week. but it feels like longer…i guess that’s because we’ve been church-hopping for about five weeks now. checking things out, seeing how different places do things, etc. but about two weeks ago, gretchen and i decided that if we didn’t pick a church “home” for our interim period (until i find a position somewhere) then we might either go crazy OR be spinning our wheels for God knows how long.

so anyway, one of the churches we have “hopped” in and out of is called mill creek community church. we just fell in love with this church. they meet in the mall for now, but they’ll be moving shortly into a school which is only about five minutes’ drive from my house. their music is great, and the teaching is awesome. so that’s the church we’ve decided to get involved with for the time being. for those of you who know me, you know that i want to get my hands a little bit dirty, so for me getting involved with a church means arriving when the set-up crew arrives, and helping out with whatever they need. that’s why i’m brewing coffee at 6:35 this morning, instead of sleeping.

we’re both pretty excited about this church. i guess ella is, too, although i don’t really think she cares…
