coffee is brewing. i used the grinder my wife bought me for valentines last year to pulverize some 8 o’clock french roast, and now in a couple of short minutes i will be enjoying the bitter delicious goodness of the roasted bean brew. vrry naice.
God has really shown me over and over how in control He is, throughout the process of being laid off, looking for a job, being offered or not offered different positions, etc. the latest update is that, against everything logical inside of me, we followed our gut and told the church in denver that we could not accept the position. so the next morning, a local guy who is a freaking rock star to me, and whose church i think is at the cutting edge of what church should be, emails me to say that he’s got a position that might be perfect for me! i don’t know how it will all work out, but basically God has now put two awesome possibilities in front of me. it just remains to be seen which one will fit better. that rocks.
tonight i’m going over to a friend’s house to play video games and vegetate. i haven’t been able to do that for a while, so i’m actually pretty excited. plus…HEROES STARTS TONIGHT. in honor of heroes’ recommencement, i’m making the following song available. it’s a foo fighters classic, covered by a new group called paramore. i don’t normally like chick rock singers, but they are pretty cool. click here to listen. and if you don’t like heroes, you are the stupidest person on the face of the earth. (that joke was for dale. you remember.)
ella is ticked, because she hasn’t eaten for three and a half hours. time to go.
