quite an eventful weekend. i’ve already made brief mention of my trip to ohio, but let me reiterate. short trip; long drive; quality time in the car with brad; a few hours of ignorant, stupid fun with my friends (we call ourselves the grandsons of mount vernon…if you think that’s cheesy, then you just don’t get it…); a couple of hours getting pwned by foreigners on xbox live (there were some mexicans who were talking smack); two and a half hours of being the class president again; a wedding prelude (we were running late. i woke up, got out of the car, walked into the church, walked down the isle, picked up my guitar, and sang my prelude song…a real prima donna entrance and performance.); an abbreviated wedding reception (at which the food looked like it was gonna be real good…and i hated to leave); some stolen candy that was intended for everyone to eat after the dinner (as explained to me by the squirrelly little guy sent over to stop me from enjoying sweet delicious candy goodness…i still got away with a couple of rock-candy-on-a-stick things); an eleven-hour, overnight drive back to georgia…arrival time 5:15am…just enough time to take a shower and go fetch the church truck; an awesome service at fusion this morning (pastor tony’s message was pretty awesome today); a postponed nap because somebody wanted to show our house between 2:30 and 3:00 (and since we desperately need our house to sell we pretty much had to say yes); some pasta for lunch; a five-hour nap; desperate housewives (my crazy dad got us into that show, and it’s so stupid and annoying and frustrating…and funny…); and now a quick blog post to round out the weekend.
i didn’t mention that the reason that i had to come back in such a rush this weekend was that seth had to go out of town. so i got the chance to lead worship at fusion church. man, that was fun. i got some pretty good feedback, and i think it went well. but that’s because seth’s preparation and the band’s awesomeness made it easy to step in and rock. i was real blessed to be able to do that today.
and now…in spite of my five-hour nap, sleepiness has begun to get the best of me. it’s time to retire for the evening and cuddle with my wife! (i’ll be asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.)
