Christmas time is here…

hyundai has a real horrible ad on television right now. “happy holi-duh” real great catch phrase. i’m already sick of it. i started seeing those commercials about three weeks ago. truth is, i don’t want to hear a choir singing “duh duh duh…” for 60 seconds straight, no matter what Christmas tune you put it to.

on the other hand, sprint’s Christmas ads are a natural extention of their already ad campaign. so instead of drawing rainbows and eyes and music notes, they’re using the lights from their phones to draw xmas trees. and it’s well done, and it’s not annoying. i also began seeing this one way before thanksgiving.

anyway, in honor (or rebuke) of these and any other premature yule advertisers who may or may not be missing the mark, i’m going to post the first of my Christmas music series installments. beginning december 1, i will post a different Christmas song each day until baby Jesus appears in the manger in front of churches across north america….(this may replace the song of the week during the month of december.) some of the songs will be beautiful and meaningful, and others will be absolutely ridiculous. tonight’s installment falls into the more ridiculous category. i offer you “the twelve days of yaksmas” by ren and stimpy. click on the link below to listen.

the twelve days of yaksmus - ren and stimpy

check back on december 1 for the next song. make sure to comment back to let me know what you think OR to give me any suggestions.

  1. My favorite christmas song is Fairytale of New York by The Pogues. Do with it as you will.

  2. hey, remember when you ate baby jesus. he didn’t appear on the 25th. he disappeared right around the 16th.
