christmas hang-over

i noticed this morning that the los angeles morning news show my parents watch still has their christmas decorations up. i don’t know why that surprised me a little bit. i guess i just expected to see them gone as soon as christmas was over. don’t get me wrong, i didn’t want them gone or anything…i was just expecting them to be.

we had a really good christmas day, complete with stockings, breakfast, gift exchange, payella for dinner/lunch, and lots of sitting around and relaxing. my nephew had a blast opening his gifts with everybody, but ella was just too tired to stick it out so she went down for a nap. she opened her gifts later, and she didn’t have to wait on anybody… the truth is that once she had opened the first one, she didn’t really care about any others. likewise with the second… and so on.

anyway, hemet california (the location of my parents’ new church) is beautiful. way more “country” than i pictured, and right at the foot of some beautiful desert mountains. and there are tumbleweeds everywhere. it’s pretty awesome.

anyway, since i didn’t get a chance to post anything yesterday, merry christmas to everybody who checks this blog. i hope your day was great yesterday, and that the whole season reminds you of how much god loves you. (for some reason, that just seemed real cheesy to me, but that’s how i feel.)
