it feels good to be back. it’s always nice to get away for a visit with family and whatnot, but there’s really nothing like walking into your home after a long trip/overnight plane ride/other… we got back from california this morning at around 7:30 (we took the red-eye!) and walked in to discover that our house was almost as cold inside as it was outside (which is pretty dang cold). upon further investigation, we learned that the dude house-sitting for us had not turned on the heat the whole time! (good for us on our gas bill, bad for him.) also, i guess he didn’t feel comfortable pulling out blankets or whatever…i feel bad because i’m pretty sure he froze the whole week…i could see my breath freezing, even after we got in the house.
happy new year to everybody who reads this blog. i hope that your holiday celebrations were amazing and memorable. and i hope that your house-sitters felt comfortable enough to turn on the heat and/or pull out some blankets.
