sunday night after church

whew. (that’s onomatopoeia…) what a day. a long, wonderful, intense, stressful, relaxing (at different times), fun day.

1. this morning at the last minute, i found out that my drummer wasn’t going to make it. so first service, one of my guitarists filled in. then between services i ran through the set with the youth pastor, who is also a drummer, and he played second service.

2. i think today’s service was great. i would’ve enjoyed it more, but the only place my wife could find us seats was in the balcony…and it was so hot up there i couldn’t concentrate on anything but the beads of sweat dripping down my brow.

3. my throat is killing me. i don’t know if it’s allergies or just a cold, but i’m coughing like a champ…so hard that it gives me headaches. i had to try to keep my distance from people so i wouldn’t get them sick. washed my hands a lot. you know the drill.

4. ella has the hiccups, and we’re listening to them through the baby monitor. it’s pretty funny. my in-laws call hiccups “the dreadfuls.”

5. my sunday school class is way huger than it was when we moved away. it’s pretty fun.

6. at one of the graduation parties i went to yesterday they served ribs. barbecue ribs. and they were awesome…and i ate a whole bunch… seriously, my plate looked like an archaeological dig when i was done.

7. my parents are doing well. they still live in california, but now they live in a town called hemet, in the middle of the desert. my grandparents live with them. my sister just graduated this spring, and she’s gonna be working at some summer camp in michigan for the next few months. my brother and his wife are still in florida. they’re about to have their second baby. pretty cool.

8. i think i answered the set of family questions for the thousandth time this evening, so i thought i’d put it out there just in case anybody else was wondering. :) (see number 7.)

9. it looks like the contract on our georgia house may be falling through (actually it looks pretty certain that it will). glad we got a security deposit, or we’d really be in trouble!

10. looking forward to this friday. we’re visiting some really good friends in bowling green, and it’s gonna be a blast. i’ve been looking forward to going up there for the past couple of months. yay.
