as i mentioned briefly in previous posts, gretchen and i are going to run a marathon. a MARATHON BABY!! yeah, i’m not really as excited about it as i just led on, but i am excited about how i’m gonna feel when the forty or so excess pounds of lard fall off of me and i can fit into my old clothes that i can’t get to right now because they’re jammed into the back of our storage unit…
anyway, here are some info plugs for you, if you even care…and even if you don’t care. this is what our lives will look like over the next three months.
first off, WE NEED A RUNNING STROLLER. i don’t know if anybody out there has one that they don’t use, who wouldn’t mind lending theirs to us so that ella can enjoy the outdoors while we kill ourselves and tear our muscles and joints to shreds.
second off, here is our training guide. if any of you decide to run this thing with us, you’ll probably need to reference it. i don’t know if it’s really a good one or not, but it’s the one gretchen found, and so i am going with it.
third off, we’re going to be eating a lot more carbs, so that we don’t crash half-way through our short, 3-mile jaunts. more pasta, more whole grain breads, more …uh… i don’t really know anything else about good carbs… so just more pasta and bread…and maybe chips?
fourth off, if you are interested in running this marathon with us, just go to akronmarathon[dot]org. let me know if you are running and we’ll have a big pasta party or something equally dorky.
fifth off, i need to learn how to do the running man:
i don’t think that this dance will necessarily help us finish the marathon, but it would be fun to do a couple of days after the race…when we can feel our legs again.
