today I had the esteemed priviledge of hearing francis chan speak. here are some highlights:
“sometimes in church I feel like there’s a bunch of people running around on an ice-skating rink and everybody’s throwing fish at each other and they’re saying ‘we’re playing soccer!’”

“when they saw fire fall from the sky the prophets of baal didn’t say, ‘elijah is awesome.’ they said, ‘the lord, he is god!’”
“once the prophets of baal confessed that elijah’s god was the true god, elijah said, ‘good, I’m glad you finally see that…but I’m still going to kill you.’ and the he killed all 450 of them.”
