1. great service yesterday morning. scott peterson, the new chaplain at my alma mater, was our guest speaker, and i think he knocked it out of the park. if i didn’t know better, i would have thought that pastor riley had told him exactly what to say for the sitch we’re in right now.
2. ordered two of these on friday. a red one for gretchen and a black one for me. got them for free in some crazy desperate verizon sale deal. w00t.
3. my dude jordan played electric guitar in the worship band yesterday, and he nailed it. i love that guy’s attitude!
4. the teen group had a thanksgiving dinner fund-raiser this afternoon. the food was actually pretty decent, especially for food cooked in bulk. but what it really did is whet my appetite for the REAL THING in a few days.
5. my in-laws are coming into town this wednesday evening. it’s always fun having them in town. and they’ll actually be able to stay at my house for the first time since we left atlanta. every time since then, they’ve had to stay in a hotel. it’ll be good to be able to actually host them.
6. good small group last night. the book of james is challenging me just as much or maybe more than the peeps in the group i lead. incredible.
7. 5 o’clock church meeting was difficult, because we’re talking about changing stuff that people have been doing for years and are comfortable with. but i really believe that the changes will be for the best in the long run, and that they will better position us to make a dent in hell in marion county. so we gotta do it.
8. gretchen said that she heard it’s supposed to snow today. ugh. oh well. bring it on. i’ve got some corn for popping.
9. for about an hour last night after everyone left gretchen and i just sat around…barely saying anything…drained, and then we both went to bed around 10 o’clock…like old people (just kidding…sort of) what a very tiring day.
10. staff meeting in a few, and i think it’s going to be intense. there’s so much to do in the next month and a half!
