great place

well, i’ve successfully knocked down the first week of the first real course in my master’s program. turned in a 1000 word reflection paper last night (which i know is probably nothing, compared to what is to come…sigh), and managed to find time to squeeze in a new look for my twitter page. (seriously, if you’re not on twitter yet, email me and i’ll show you how. you can follow me, and i’ll follow you. it’s fun. you’ll like it. trust me.) i’m getting on a better schedule, now and finding a better balance between family, God, job, school, etc. i’m no less busy, but i’m getting the hang of it.

so i figured, “why not add one more thing?!” (haha, no i’m serious.) so this morning i started a fitness boot camp with a few friends (including my dad!) three mornings a week, for a month. the workouts begin at 6am, so that i have plenty of time left in my day to juggle all the other stuff and still make it home in time to be a daddy and a husband. i got home this morning around 7:10, drank a little cup of chocolate milk and made a 2&2 omelet (2 whole eggs and 2 egg whites) with some low-fat miracle whip and fresh diced tomato from our back yard. tomorrow i think i’ll make a 2&1, or maybe a 1&1, cause i’m having trouble eating the whole thing.

it’s the first day of intro to ministry and culture week 2. i’m done with everything from last week, and nothing’s due tonight.

what a great place to be.

so here i am sitting at my dining room table, 7:38am, front door wide open so i can feel the cool morning air, all three of my girls sound asleep upstairs, arms and legs feeling like jello, still a little bit sweaty, surfing my new verizon high-speed internet connection, eating my rubbery omelet, sipping my chocolate milk, when i realize i have time to blog. for the first time in a long time.

what a great place to be.

one time when i was seven or so, my dad came in and woke me up at dark:30 in the morning and asked me if i wanted to go to the ymca with him. he was taking some sort of aerobics/dumbell sort of class, and i got to go move around and hold little weights and feel like a grown-up with him. when we came out after the class, the sun was just coming up. to this day it is one of my favorite memories. i got to work out with my dad again this morning.

what a great place to be.

also, i don’t know if i mentioned this: i have daughters.

what a great place to be.
