sometime several months ago, in a moment of weakness, i ran this application on my facebook profile called “compare me” or something…it’s a program that brings up two random people in your contacts list and asks you questions like “who is more famous?” or “who is cuter?” etc. then you choose between the two, and the program records who is “more attractive” or a “better father”… so now every month or so i get updates on what my facebook contacts think are my strengths and weeknesses. here is the email i got this morning.

Your friends have voted on your strengths and weaknesses:

STRENGTHS:

most artistic
most talented
coolest

WEAKNESSES:

most trustworthy
best scientist

so don’t plan on calling me with your science needs. because even if i didn’t suck at science, i couldn’t be trusted to help you anyway.

i can’t even barely believe what i just read. this church in kansas is protesting at funerals of u.s. soldiers. their pastor fred phelps and his two daughters recently stood trial for invasion of privacy and intent to inflict emotional distress. they claim that american casualties are punishment for our nation’s tolerance of homosexuality. are you freaking kidding me?!

you can read the time magazine article here. as you can see from the article title, the church lost a lawsuit to the tune of eleven million dollars…but the total self-righteous, holier-than-thou, sucky attitude of the people who represent the church (the pastor and his daughters) really makes me mad. it makes me want to drive out to kansas, find this pastor, and rid him of his teeth…maybe put a dent in his forehead.

i know that isn’t the right action, but i can’t stand the idea of people who don’t know Jesus being led to believe that He is that kind of person. man, fred phelps sucks big-time. hhhhhaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH! (that started as a napolean dynamite sigh and quickly turned into a frustrated shout…)

they obviously follow a different Jesus than I follow.

i forgot what internet access was like in college. i’m on a state college campus, in dublin, georgia, using their “free” wi-fi. i say “free” because, while i don’t have to pay anything for its use, i’m not really “free” to use it as i wish. i was going to edit the myspace page that i just set up for the camp i’m going to next week, but i was told that that site was for dating, and thus blocked. anything that is labeled “entertainment” (including linked photos in my blog) is also blocked. i guess beggars can’t be choosers.

heartland of georgia technical academy is the host to the district assembly of the georgia district of the church of the nazarene…what a mouthful. maybe i’m just a jerk, but i don’t know that i’ve ever sat through so much worthless mumbo jumbo, making such a beautifully simple mission appear so ridiculously dreadful. what a waste of time and money. the assembly cost $24,000, and it seems to me that the only people getting fired up and excited are the people who would be fired up and excited anyway…and still not get anything done. dump that freaking money into digging some clean wells in africa.
