summertime thursday

last week at summertime thursday, we talked about growing up and realizing that some of the stuff that fit you all your life doesn’t fit anymore. for a long time, you were either adopting or rebelling against what your parents, coaches, teachers, or other role-models believed. eventually though, we’ve all got to take […]

tuesday morning mind dump

the term “mind dump” sounds so gross…but to an extent that’s what i’m doing…taking all the stuff that’s developed in my mind over the past weekend and “dumping” it out here in cyberspace. thanks for understanding…
1. really great service on sunday. i think that a lot of people connect with god in a […]

this is buckeye country

welcome home, dear friend.

thursday night brain drain

1. i’m doing some cool stuff this weekend. i’ll post some photos soon.
2. getting to hang out with my brother’s family, too, this weekend. i love his family. they’re pretty awesome.

cool professor

check this dude out.
have a great day!

alright already we’ll all float on

so, i don’t hate ohio any more. and i can’t be mad at the ohio state players. after all, they’re just kids (yeah i’m old enough to say that now…) and they played hard…and on top of all that, it’s silly for me to get that worked up over something so temporary. […]

talk about a rough week…

tonight was perhaps the icing on a whole week of cake whose main ingredient was crap…or something. it hurts to be a buckeyes fan. i feel like i’m experiencing last year’s bcs spanking all over again, even down to the fact that both years i watched the game with a dudes named matt. […]

“christmas song-a-day” hiatus

i’m sitting here in my office, eating my lunch at 2:30, sipping coffee from my new starbucks cup with pictures of ella all over it, watching a video of a great a capella group from indiana university called “straight no chaser” attempting to sing the twelve days of christmas. i actually caught myself laughing […]

so much more than just a nut

what a good day to be from ohio.

jim tressel and his conservative offense and powerful defense just made my day. and it was real fun to watch beanie wells run all over the field today. four years straight? five years straight? i don’t know, but that’s pretty impressive. i don’t […]

woody hayes, baby

i’m watching ohio state at michigan at my boy jeff’s house, and before kickoff we watched a documentary on the 100-year-old rivalry. the highlight for me was a quote by woody hayes that said, “if somebody gives you a compliment, kick them in the shins, unless it is a lady over 80.”
wow.
